Hi my name is Marleena Eyre and I live in Beantown—otherwise known as Boston. The Flex Foodie is a food blog I started as a place where both healthy and indulgent foods come together. I believe that one can have a healthy lifestyle, but still indulge from time to time. With this lifestyle in place, I have progressively become what is known as a Flexitarian—a person who eats a predominantly vegetarian diet, but who eats meat or fish occasionally. Generally, I don’t believe in labels, but this one seems to fit the bill pretty well!
Cooking—with an emphasis on baking—has always played a large role in my life. I’ve always found it to be relaxing and fun. For example, when I was little, I could be found sitting on the kitchen counter mixing up my own concoction of ingredients, and if it wasn’t up to snuff, I would start over until it was just right. You don’t always have to make something out of complex ingredients to be delicious—although it can be! Sometimes the simplest ones can lead to an amazing dish!
I strive to maintain a whole foods and from scratch approach to cooking, and I try to use local, seasonal and organic ingredients when possible. I hope that you have as much fun as I do in the kitchen, and feel free to email me at email@example.com with any questions, comments, and the like!
